Therefore, the crack must be perpendicular to the direction of magnetic field. Therefore, in the detection, it is necessary to estimate the possible location and direction of cracks, and use different magnetization methods: transverse cracks magnetize the parts longitudinally, and longitudinal cracks magnetize the parts transversely (or circularly).
